Criteria of Awards
PURPOSE: To encourage and recognize companies who have made significant contributions to growing and enhancing trade, commerce, civic, philanthropic, and/or cultural relations between the United Kingdom and the United States.
ELIGIBILITY:
Small to Mid-Sized International Business Award
- Exemplary corporate leadership for international business or trade that advances relations between the UK and the US and creates quality jobs in the UK or US.
- Eligible companies should have 10-500 employees worldwide and annual revenue between $1 million – $100 million.
Large Corporate International Business Award
- Exemplary corporate leadership for international business or trade that advance relations between the UK and the US and creates quality jobs in the UK or US.
- Eligible companies should have more than 500 employees worldwide or annual revenue greater than $100 million.
Consul-General’s Award for Corporate Social Responsibility
- Exemplary corporateleadership for philanthropic, civic and/or cultural achievements.
- Performed a service, raised funds, conducted, donated, sponsored or supported a successful charity, project, event, activity, infrastructure for a section of or an entire community with UK and US connections and/or
- Brought recognition to the UK/US, a section or entire community through a cultural, environmental, sporting or other achievement.
APPLICATION: BABC Houston members and other community leaders may submit applications for one or more companies, including their own. Companies may apply for more than one award, but may be a finalist in only one category.
Companies entered must be willing to participate in a “fireside-chat” during the Awards Luncheon in October 2012.
DEADLINE: Nominations must be received by 1 July, 2012
CRITERIA:
Business Award applicants will be judged based on the following award criteria:
1. Year-over-year revenue growth both in the US and the UK.
2. Year-over-year job growth both in the US and UK.
3. Annual capital expenditure in the US and UK.
Consul General Award applicants will be judged based on the following award criteria:
1. Philanthropic, cultural or charitable accomplishments aiding or developing the British-American community.
2. Support for philanthropic, cultural or charitable activities aiding or developing the British-American community.
3. The duration of philanthropic, cultural or charitable accomplishments or activities aiding or developing the British-American community.
Award: The Award will be presented at the British Annual Awards Luncheon in October 2012 at the Westin Memorial City
Judges: Judges reserve the right to consider award applicants other than those indicated on the application forms.
